I really love that movie. It is one of my favorites. Right up there with "The Shining". "Red Dawn" is another of my older favorites.

I find that Stephen King's books don't make good films - they're ok, just not brilliant. Misery, however, is the exception!! The book is brilliant and well worth a read. Another one you should try is Graham Masterton. It's more of a "grown up" read, but excellent. Try "the house that Jack built" - absolutely terrified me!!! Dean Koontz is good too, but I find James Herbert a bit juvenile in his writing.

Try Rose Madder also by Steven King - Can also recommend Thomas Harris of Hannibal Lector fame. I find though the best books are ones you just find in the sale bin or at reduced price and the ones that you would never have picked ordinarily.
Happy reading

Misery was fantastic, the film was good too... Kathy Bates was great in it.... Stephen Kings IT and The Dark Half are great too but by far the best if you into reading coz its a long book is Stephen Kings THE STAND...... great.... Dean koontz and James Herbert are good horror writers too.... Have fun I love reading books, mostly better than films anyday.

Sadly I haven't read it yet, but I've seen the film and it left a lasting impression on me to say the very least! He's written tons of good books, The Green Mile is incredible, or even the series entitled "The Bachman Books" which he originally wrote under a pseudonym. John Grisham's books are quite good too, more of the old ones than the recent ones though. Have fun!

MIsery is excellent....even better than the movie, and that's saying alot. Cell by Stephen King is also very good! I'm astounded at all the people who are praising Dean Koontz....I mean, are you KIDDING me??? He writes like he's in grade 12! It's all self-serving, egomaniacal, self-serving dross.

If you liked this book, then you would probably like Stephen King's "Pet Sematary" .
Other books that are very good are the Pan book of horror stories. They are all short stories and are very good.

try Graham Masterton and HP Lovecraft. Also, like other guy says, Dean Koontz and Clive Barker.
Clive Barker - Coldheart Canyon is outstanding!
