Futuristic -- Han Solo shoots Greedo in bar in Star Wars
Current -- (tie) bank shootout in Heat
casino robbery in 3000 miles from Graceland
Past -- train station shootout in the Untouchables
Old West -- the entire Trinity triology (blue eyes is fast)
On tv, the Unit has the best shootouts -- their tactics are sound and realistic.

The climatic scene in "Open Range", the big meeting in the hotel room scene in "True Romance", many scenes in "The Quick and the Dead", and it's not necessarily a gunfight scene, but the opening scene in "Saving Private Ryan".
