That is a very philosophical question...isn't music all sound?...All music is really is 'sound management' Various frequencies organised into patterns by us humans and other noise generating beings. Our brains are stimulated by patterns, particularly rhythm..on the count we've always had our own rhythm box to listen to ..namely the heart. The first music we probably composed would of been Rythmical. Natrure is full of sounds..some like pattrens..some abstract..and it would be difficult to say when we started to appreciate them the same way we apprcieted music now. They would of be understood as warning signals from predators, or indicators of certain times of the day and locations. All sound can be appreciated and expressed in musical terms, they are completley dependant on each other.

you obviously dont have children cos if you did you wouldnt ask a question like that, especially if you've been awake all nite and you are just about to fall asleep when the baby begins to cry, you're 3yr old and 7yr old are screaming at each other in the next room and your teenage son has his radio on at full blast. No silence is perfect music not sound!

All sound can be considered music, from birdsong to the drone of a didgeridoo, it's all down to culture and personal preference. All sound has either tone, melody or rhythm, or combinations of the three.

It can be, and then sometimes it isn't. It depends whether you see percussion as music. If you do then I suppose it is, just remember that a drummer is someone that hangs around with musicians. I say yes it can be it just depends in what context the sound is heard.

that's actually a pretty good question.....it's to do with how you interpret it....music doesn't have to be structured so i guess....well, i go out on a limb and say anything with any kind of melody

this includes rap music, to the idiot above

Most sound could be interpreted as music.
Rap would be the exception to the rule
