I went out alot, stay out with a group of friends till 5am easily, can play pool for up to 14 hours and hang out with 20 people no problem when i was a teen and then stop outgoing for quite a few years now. Right now, I feel uncomfortable if there are couple new people in the group. My friend say i dot't talk a lot but if the subject is interesting, exciting and curious then I can talk like crazy lol. Also, I dotn' feel shy when talk to a new person and I really good in playing chess. I am quite different as when i was a kid and teen, but I think this is because I am more mature then before right. I have no problem working a lone also. So am I introverted or extravert? or you need more information lol.

Introvert: You may consider yourself to be shy and introverted. You draw power from self reflection and contemplation. Working in groups costs you energy and may even cause panic. For this or other reasons you dread situations in which you must speak up loudly and forcefully. You would rather work at your desk or in your cubicle than attend meetings and give presentations.
The internal pressure not to participate in certain situations can be very powerful when reinforced by personality traits and a lifetime of practice. Sometimes extroverted people will dominate a situation, not even realizing that others have differing ideas and opinions. People tend to get rewarded depending on their "contributions," but the people with the loudest voices don't always have the best ideas.

To me it sounds like you are both. You are just at a point in your life where you would rather have a stimulating conversation, and don't want to comment on things unless you really have something to say. As far as being unconfortable around other people, that may be a little introverted, but I think you have just matured.

You seem normal to me. Most people are a bit shy when meeting new people, and it's normal to feel comfortable talking more about a subject you're interested in. I would say you're extroverted in a healthy way.

I'd say neither, just normal. That is normal behavior for a whole lot of people. Don't worry about categorizing yourself. Most people are inbetween the two, anyway.

As children, I think, all of us were out going unless we were sick. Your present level of discomfort amidst others indicates that you are inclined to be introvert
