A vinyl LP is a record, played on a record player(made of vinyl)LP stands for Long Play because unlike a 45 record (Smaller, containing the recording of only one song on each side) it is 10 inches in diameter and has several songs on each side. If you have a CD player buy the CD. If you are fortunate to have a record player that still works fine and you have a good needle on it, try the LP vinyl. It's not portable and the LP can get scratched easily. They are dinosaurs!

Oh boy, I'm going to carbon-date myself here.

When you were growing up, did you see your parents having a collection of thier music stacked beside the stereo/turntable? Vinyl LPs are like the ancient CDs. They are big (then there are the 45s) but LPs are big, and they are black round plastic/vinyl that has lines all around it where the needle reads the recorded music. They are cased in a protective sheet of paper or plastic then in cardboard sleeves.

Many Djs still use vinyl today. They get better control of the sound/music

You are young arent you? Vinyl can either be 7" or 12". You listen to them with a needle on a record player, that were around long before cds. I collect them.

A vinyl lp is a large (generally black) flat thing with grooves in it. You need a turntable to play one. Everyone had them till cd's came along. Dang, i feel old.

My god you must be young!
Vinyl LPs 33rpm (10" and 12") and 45 rpm (7").
Look in your history books! ;-)
