i left my straightner on at 450 degrees for about a hour after i went to skol on a fabric covered bench because i was running late. My dad went in and found it and turned it off and put it in the bathroom... this morning my mom came in to wake me up so i could babysit and she say the burn marks and claimed its antique furniture. Now im in extreme punishment until atleast January. Is there anyway to get the burn marks out and is there any way for my mom to be far about it? I have no hair straightner and naural curly hair... please help.

There is no way to remove burn marks completely, as the fabric has been destroyed. I would also advise not trying to clean it with any cleaners as that can harm the antique fabric. I do believe that your punishment is necessary, but maybe a bit harsh. Wait a month or so and then try to discuss it with her. If you try to do it now she may get angry and take it away for even longer.

Wow hun, that could have caused a fire and burnt your house down as well as destroying the antique! I would have been very angry as well and taken the straightener away. Everybody makes mistakes, it is part if life...I am sure this will not happen again and you will remember to shut the straightener from now on. I would wait a couple of weeks and then have a talk with your parents about their grounding, Jan seems a bit long!

Your mum would have to see someone that does restoring, they could possibly sort it out and i think she is being fair,a least your still alive. You'll have to use your mates until she forgives you and gives them back . Good Luck
