Ever seen a field of sheep? Surely they must contemplate their own existence while they're munching on their grass? Every now and then you see sheep who have escaped and are wondering around on the roads. Maybe those sheep have seen the truth - that their fate is the slaughter house - and feel the only thing they can do is escape and then get creamed on a road?

If they do, they haven't told us. They are probably too intelligent for that.

No, seriously-animals are driven by instinct and humans have free will. Because of this, we have metaneeds (look it up in psychology) and we strive for mercy and justice, things animals do not.

Yes, dolphins. the Rev Adams, in his much eulogised chapter, quotes them as saying, prior to their departure from these coordinates in is sector of the solar system.....

"So long, and thanks for all the fish....."

Well, if that tells one nothing else (not least of all, of 'Fish' and the dolphins respect for them), it speaks about their awareness of their own mortality.

May God protect while He and his servants anoint the most Holy Adams and whichever laptop he'll use in the future.

D Adam !!!!! Ooops. Sashtou.

'I don't know, I don't live around here'!
