im a blonde and people are always making blonde jokes?? why blondes and not brunettes or reds?

What I think is, it has to do with two facts: 1.- Blondes have always been considered very attractive, and 2.- White people (especially in the past) was the group usually associated with economical well-being.
So I guess the ditzy and shallow personality attributed to blondes would be a result of having had an easy life and of having always gotten everyone's attention.
Of course I am aware that not all blondes are like that, and that such responses in character are generally human, not exclusively blondian, but hey... it is true that blondes are in demand: A lot of guys dig them (myself among them!) and a lot of girls want to be one!
And to prove my point, let's take a clinical case of stereotypical dumb blonde: Paris Hilton; Has she got money? has she had an easy life? does she get all the attention? is she attractive? IS SHE BLOND?????
I rest my case...

i'm sorry to tell all you blondes this, but about 5 centuries ago, when almost everyone had brown hair, a wierd genetic disease was discovered. it was like this: it gave you searing pain in your eyes when you went out in daylight, it made you, let's just say... a little duller, and of course, most importantly, it made you go completely blonde. (also caused hair aging to come earlier, in the 20s).
of course, there is a little jealousy involved, but another small reason is that believe it or not americans are 1: the most blonde 2: the stupidest people on the face of the earth. sorry, but it's based on pure facts.

Well sorry to say this, but tendency has it that most blonds are airheads, sorry but its true, I know its not all obviously but a lot!!! Look at the entertainment business, who are always put up as dumb?? U guys..... Us brunettes r taken more seriously because we tend to portray it so and we actually are. It's the sad truth for blondies...... sorry.
Look if you know you are smart, don't sweat about it, ppl r always going to make fun of everyone else no matter what. Just be smart enough to not let those things get to you, cuz if you do, theeeeen u'll be one more dumb blond, and I don't think u would want that, would you?

Only a blonde would ask that question! Where I come from we use "blonde" to descibe anyone who does something silly or dumb even if they are not blonde. Eg: "That's very blonde of you" or "I'm just being a blonde" "It's my blondness coming out" . Most blondes are dye jobs anyway so don't take it seriously - we're just jealous! I pay a lot of money for my blonde hair!

Because celebrities profited by an ignorant stereotype,the dumb blond routine is very popular,men seem to enjoy ditsy dumb girls they boost their egos and make them feel more powerful.Its sick!
so then the jokes started and with good reason,because if blonds are truly as dumb as celebrities make them look to be then the jokes are justified.But since sterotypes are unfair,unjust and totally false all I can say is they will linger as long as society allows.

i dont know anytime i ever heard blond moment jokes was when a cute guy was flirting with me and there probulbly just jealouse we were born with blonde hair and others have to buy it in a bottle

Standard answer: Jealousy.
However, there is some, albeit small, advantage to being blonde - at least
in a non-technological society.
Dark hair makes it hard for potential mates to determine if your hair is infested
with vermin. Its easier with blonde hair.
Therefore, men (so the theory goes) may prefer blondes.

They're just jealous of our natural blonde locks. Anyone noticed how many people call us dopey,etc, and many of the same are queued up at Boots chemist,waiting to pay for their blonde dye?....MESSAGE TO ELANA....Too much information ! I'm now checking my hair...just in case
