I used to be a photographer. It is definitely meant to be a compliment in the hopes that you will let that person tae more photos of you. Good looking subjects are harder to find than it seems. There are lots of beautiful people but not all look great on film. You need facial balance and a natural sense for the camera that not all people have. And by the way, air brushing and filtering costs time and money. If you can find a person whose pictures you don't have to touch up by all means grab them and tell them that they are in fact very photogenic.

Yes and I do think it's a compliment. Look at how many people take really crappy pictures. Then, there are some people out there who look good in almost 100% of photos taken of them. I would definitely consider myself photogenic and I am thankful for that.

Yes and it is a compliment. It means you look good on camera or in pictures. Some people are far more photogenic than me though, that is for sure.

Yes, but it's such a lie. I don't photograph well. I don't know why people have ever said that to me. It's not true. If it was true, it might be sort of a compliment, but more of an observation. Maybe they're just trying to be polite, because I'm not. I think I'm weird-looking. My eyes are too big and my whiskers stick out and I have this crazy suprised look on my face.

Yes, I guess it's a compliment.
I makes them want to waste some film or memory on me. It probably used to be more of a compliment when each time you took a picture you were spending some money. Nowadays, digital is so cheap, it's probably not much of a compliment. It's free to take a picture of you.

Yes, I have even modelled. But be aware of who is telling you and why. It is a compliment, but what is the intent? A mature woman always asks these kinds of questions. Flattery is an easy thing to give in to, especially when we are hearing what we want to hear.

I modeled for photographers in my youth. I took it as a compliment. I was rather shy and self conscious because I was so skinny people called me Twiggy so when I got a few modeling jobs that improved my self esteem.
