I am a bit on the overweight side, and my friend is normal weight. She always makes really delicious BUT fattening foods and desserts, and invites me over or we go out to eat at fast food restaurants. I can't say no, and I eat it. I don't want to eat it though, 'cause I have to lose weight... help me out? What should I do and say?

You tell your friend that you want to lose weight. Ask her to help you. One way if for her to stop making desserts for you. Its not that you dont like her desserts, as a matter of fact, it is because you loved them. And next time she invites you, say NO.

You need to seriously question not only whether your "friend" really IS one, but also her motives. My guess is your "friend" is jealous of you.

Judging by her continued actions of trying to sabotage your weight loss desires, I would call her out on the carpet about her behavior towards you.

The bottom line though is, if you really want to lose weight, you have to clear the obstacles that are preventing you from doing that. The fact that your friend makes these delicious, fattening foods and desserts, then invites you over (and you accept the invitation) is a roadblock. Your going to fast food restaurants with your friend is a roadblock. To be honest, your FRIEND is a roadblock.

To be successful, when your friend invites you over to eat the fattening foods she has made, you need to decline that invitation. When you're out with your friend and she wants to stop for fast food, you need to either not go with her in the first place or suggest a place to eat that has healthier food choices.

From your post, you really don't have a friend in this girl. A true friend would support your weight loss desires, not try to sabotage them every chance she gets. It sounds like you need to find another friend to me.

Good luck with your weight loss endeavors! I lost 104 lbs over four years ago and I've kept it off for over three years. (No surgery - just a good weight loss plan combined with regular exercise).

Friends are meant to make you happy and not let you do something that you don't want to do. They should be considerate and empathetic towards you. If she loves and cares about you, she'd not force you to eat fatty food. Tell her you don't like being overweight. She will understand your concern. If not, I doubt she can ever do anything for you.
