She is nine years old. I don't want to intorduce something to her skin that will harm it instead of help it.

START NOW!!!! The sooner the better, maybe ask your doctor or go to a dermatoligist to get a specila cream and cleanser for her!! Good luck!

My granddaughter is 2, she washes her face, Of course, she doesn't do a good job but that's the way they learn. The same thing goes for brushing her teeth, these things have to be taught how to do properly.
If your daughter is not washing her face thoroughly, you need to show her how.

my niece started washing her face on her own at the age of 2! i think she should know the basics of washing herself by that age!

i think 5th or 6th grade is a good time to start, but it depends on the amount of oil, if she is really oily you might want to start before
