My daughter would like to perform a humorous selection for her high school speech team, so far she is not satisfied with the selections available at school. Does anyone know where we might be able to find more humorous selections for her to choose from? These selections are usually 5 to 7 min long, and the single performer does multiple characters.

If you contact me, I would be happy to send you a copy of the last script I wrote that was put on. It was a parody of 1940s detective movies and squeaky clean. It's set in Santa Monica, California, 1947. I'm interested in seeing if more high school students would be interested in comedies I write.

Check the library for 2 books by Alan King, "My Brother was an only Child" and "Never trust a naked busdriver"... both of those books had some hilarious dialogue vignettes in them. It's been 30 years or more since they were written and I doubt most people would recognize the bits.
