I just had a baby few weeks ago. I was 38 weeks then, but on that day, I did not go to the hospital for delivery. I went there for a check up. The doctor examine me and said I was already dilated 6 cm and I should give birth that day. I asked the doctor whether she was going to induced me and she said no. She said that it is not induction. She will only give me gulocose and will not break the water. I was not ready but had no choice.
In just a moment she came and insert the tube of gulocose into my body and start inserting her hand. It felt really painful. I don`t know what she was doing. She asked me to push if i felt contraction. After that they took me immediately into the labor ward. There, the water broke and the baby is born.

I wonder whether this is not call an induction. I gave birth in less than half an hour. If that was not an induction, what else could it be?

Well, she didn't break your water, it broke naturally.
She didn't give you pitossin (sp) which is what they give to induce labor.
When she examined you she was checking your how dialated you were and that is painful! Sometimes Docs can strip the membrane on the cervix and that can help things move along.
I am not a doctor but from what you described you went into labor naturally, without help from any meds.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!

What do you mean, glucose? If you were already 6cm then she just helped you speed the delivery along if she did not break your membrane. If she broke your water then she did induce you. It really depends on what you're saying. But if you were 6cm already, you were going to have that baby soon anyway.
Congrats on your new baby.

That wasn't glucose... that was Pitocin... Pitocin is a drug that induces labor, so yes, you were induced... even though I don't know why you would have been induced if you just went in and were at 6 cm's with no pain. That makes no sense. Glucose is that orange sugar drink they make you drink at 26 to 30 weeks to check for diabetis....

When they enduce u the first thing they try is putting some dissolving tablet up ur flower which should soften the cervix and start labour. if that doesnt work they will break ur waters when i had my little boy they tried the tablet twice that didnt work so they gave me an internal (the mans hand felt massive i thought i was dying) he broke my waters and i went into labour so in my opinion i would say you were induced.

My guess would be that you were already in labor but didn't know it. The doctor just checked to see how dialated you were. I remember when I had my daughter, that hurt like crazy when I was in labor.

I don't think that she lied to you, you just had the baby very quickly.
