No he couldn't. He was born in Cardiff of Welsh parents. A lot of confusion was caused because he played for England Schoolboys but this team is made up of boys from any nation who attended English schools. Ryan attended Moorside High School in Swinton, near Manchester after his parents moved there from Wales. At that time his father was a professional rugby player who played for Salford and his name was Wilson. Due to his father's violent behaviour Ryan's mother divorced him and he changed his name to her maiden name Giggs. When Ryan played for England schoolboys there were Scots, Welsh and Irish lads in the team.

If only... I think if there was a British national team not just English, Welsh, Irish or Scottish; they would have become champions long ago.

I guess not.. he'll choose where he wants to play, right? But it would be extremely good for England, then again..
