I mean food in general, not a special treat you may give them...

I let my bambino eat till he's done--he's in his high chair chomping away at his banana and veggie puffs! LOL!

You let them eat until they are full. They will stop eating on their own. They need to eat as much as they want because it is necessary for their brain development and growth. If your doctor feels they are overweight he/she will let you know, but in general they will not suggest limiting food until your child is over the age of 2. Fat under the age of 2 is crucial to proper brain development and other nutrients from food as well. This is why you are supposed to give your child whole milk after weaned. Obviously this applies to healthy food for your child and not sweets, although it sounds like that is what you mean.

The trick is to let them eat until they are full, but not try to force one or two more bites JUST so you can empty the babyfood jar. By letting them eat until they're full you can be sure that your baby is getting all the nutrients they need.

It is totally inadvisable to try and "control" how much a baby eats. Babies all grow at different rates, and one week your child may eat 6 jars per day, and the next week they might eat just two per day. If you have any questions, go see a peditrician, or even better, several, since I've seen quite a few crooked ones in my time.

I used to let her eat till she was full. Her stomach sends a message to her brain telling her that she can't eat anymore. So she will let you know when she is no longer hungry. If you control how much she eats you may not be feeding her enough.

You can't control how much your baby eats. My baby is about three weeks old and the the doctor told me to let it eat until it is full.

My baby is just over two weeks old. Both doctors that I took her to said to feed her until she's full. So, that's what we do. She's a very healthy, happy baby.
