Chinchillas don't have dander, but the potential still exists for them to produce allergy-causing proteins through other excretions, such as saliva or urine.

yes all animals with hair have dander. Chinchillas shed their hair like crazy, it offten comes off in clumps if they are scared. They also require a weekly dust bath. I had 2 of them and had to give them away due to my husbands allergies. Every time I cleaned the cage he had an ashma attach!

Only if they aren't properly taken care of, but otherwise they are known to be clean animals.
