Why do you think recently their are movies focused on 30's to 50's?

Why do you think recently their are movies focused on 30's to 50's?

Some examples: Idlewild, Hollywoodland, The Black Dahalia, All The Kings Men. I can't think of others but what do you think the fascination with that time frame is?

Nostalgia. Different movies genres are designed to capture different market segments...these movies aren't targeting the younger market...they are going after the older one.

I think the world is so screwed up that people need an escape to more simple times.

People are doing this because the movie makers want to take you back to the simpler days.
