Are you serving pit bulls in a restaurant? I think not. This is not a Dining Out question, it is a pets question.

My neighbor believed, as you do, that "it's all in how you raise them." She bought herself a pretty even tempered pitbull. Then I got pregnant and little "Angel" started growling and trying to chase me off MY property. I chalked it up to hormones.
After little "Angel" bit three people (including her owner), my neighbor decided "no more pitbulls." My neighbor takes excellent care of all her dogs. She usually keeps 2-3 at a time. She trains them. Her dogs are loved throughout the neighborhood. "Angel" was accepted....until the biting began!
The breed is just funny like that. Whether they are bred to e fighters or not, there is still a fighter in their blood. Sometimes you get one that never attacks and sometimes you do. Unless you live in a large rural area, do you really want to take the chance that your pitbull will turn?

I used to work at an animal shelter and I have ran into some vicious pit bulls and some sweet and nice pit bulls. And it is all in how you raise them, but the state I live in they are outlawed so basically the nice ones die because of the stupid owners who train there dog to fight and kill. sucks

I don't agree. Pit Bulls are aggressive by nature. Yes, some of it is how they're raised.....sometimes. But, whenever a child is mauled or killed by a dog, 9 times out of 10 it's by a pit bull. You can't tell me that it's the owners raising them to be mean everytime a child is mauled to death. You never hear about a poodle or chihauhau mauling and killing a child....it's usually a pit bull.

Yes! If a pitbull goes to animal control then they are not able to adopt them out they are euthanized.
As far as people realizing what your saying, it's probably a far chance that will happen. It's people that are wrecking the reputation of these dogs. It's not their fault some are so aggressive.

The stereotype comes from the fact that they were bred to be fighting dogs, which of course fight to kill. Also, pitbulls have a stronger jaw than any other dog which actually does make their bite much more dangerous. Thats why theyre not good to have. However, you are right. It's all about how theyre brought up.

In our town there are rules in regards to dogs that the city considers dangerous - this includes pitbulls. So, I guess not.
