I have a Mother in law who is hard to deal with. I don't think she likes me too much but I try to be as polite and kind to her as possible. I don't see her unless there's a family function and then I just try to be pleasant and keep the conversation short. I try to compliment her about what sh's wearing or her hair or something. I've found the best way to handle it is to just take a deep breath, smile and be as nice as possible. I try to have as little contact with her as possible. I guess it works because we've never had an altercation.

Not really a job for a fairy princess, but i'll ask around. Perhaps a goblin might know (their mothers in law are notoriously crazy). Either that or you could try pixie dust sprinkled on her cornflakes. Hope that helps. X

I don't know how crazy she is, but here goes:
You can never win. So lay down your own rules in your own house and stick to them. She'll come around,if she wants to be with you and your family.
Take no nonsense. Just say politely: I don't like that.
If your spouse supports you, you're lucky. If not, don't expect him to get involved. Just be above it all, don't get emotionally involved. In your own house, you rule!
Always be polite and respectful and kind, though. Don't make enemies.

once you get married you do no longer in easy terms marry your husband, you marry his family participants too. i'm undecided how long you have been married yet i'm assuming it hasn't been very long. if his mom has been performing like this now, that is going to in easy terms worsen with time. You and your husband could look for suggestion from a professional marriage counselor. He needs to awaken and understand that his dating along with his mom isn't healthful. and the mother herself isn't mentally healthful. i do no longer propose leaving her thoroughly with the aid of fact the final element you will possibly want to do is make enemies of your in-rules. yet I strongly propose you to work out a counselor.

Id kill her with kindness for a while, but if it doesnt work after a couple months then you should talk to your husband about it. You shouldnt have to skirt around someone just to make them be civil. I would just worry about myself and my family, be nice and civil but dont go out of your way to make her feel comfortable if she wont do the same for u! Life is to short to live it the way someone else wants you to, have fun...

depends what you mean by crazy>
sure you are NOT the crazy one?
it is really a matter of perception.
I think my son-in-law thinks that of me at times - but I reckon it is his problem
