Imperialism is not a great seller. We use the old "do as I say, not as I do" cliche. We(by "we" I mean the clowns that some even sillier clowns have elected) have always been good at bending people and their civilizations to our whims. I can not stand our government, how can I expect others to. When you get right down to it, the U.S. government is the target for most of the rage, with the people just being guilty by association. With nimrods like Bush at the helm, the hate multiplies ten fold each day, and rightfully so.

Like Until says, "we are the richest and most powerful" nation in the world and "don't apologize for it". That's exactly the problem!
The U.S.A. represents less than 5% of the world's population and yet squanders 55% of the world's resources! I don't think people are jealous, as much as they are repulsed by our greed, arrogance, indifference, and bullying. Sharing is a good thing, and the U.S.A. wants it all. We illegally and unconstitutionally invaded Iraq for only two reasons: 1) the Bush family's personal vendetta against Hussein, and 2) Cheney wants all that OIL swimming underneath Iraq's sand so he and his buddies can get richer and richer and richer.
Bush has bullied the world to the point that they now only see their own stockpile of nuclear weapons as an only defense against the world's new 'evil empire' - the United States of America.
We welcome 'illegals' with 'open arms' because the wealthy elitists in this country need them for cheap, illegal labor as maids, janitors, nannies, housekeepers, and lackeys. -RKO-

I wish those that do despise the USA would realize that it's the government they should be unhappy with and that not all Americans support the under-handed things that this govt. does. I love this country because I have the freedom to say I don't like some of the decisions this govt. makes.

Sandy b and the girl have it right look at Canada we have a good government and we do welcome citizens with open arms and we are not run by bush we don't invade other countries for nothing can anyone even remember why US is in Iraq i can't what it all comes down to is bush is president and using Americans to deal with his problems.

I think there are a few reasons, people hate Bush's foreign policy more than anything now, but also they don't like US government hypocrisy, we create a set of rules that we don't follow and last but not least US acts like the rulers of the world and sovereign countries do not agree with that, just like the US would not allow any country telling us what to do.

YES!! France hates us because we take allow illegal immigrants to come into our country. It makes perfect sense. (Sarcastic)
Nations despise the US because of our failed foreign policy. We tend to act egotistical and like a loose cannon in the world and so people will inevitably dislike us.

IN most other countries they see greed for what it is. They also see lust for power as what it is. Only in America are many people stupid enough to follow the leader blindly. There are 1.3 billion people who follow Islam. They see Americans in Government as a "decadent godless group" they also see our Governments greed and lust for power as evil.

No, we really don't welcome all people with open arms. We think that we are the boss of every other country and that we are better than everyone else. This country is full of greed and is very scandalous. We start wars for no apparent reason. And our government is full of assholes.
