Small gnat-like bugs coming from house plants may be the result of over watering. Try letting the plants dry out completely between waterings.
Over watering is one of the most frequently made mistakes with house plants. In addition to those pesky bugs, it can result in mold and root rot.

Dawn dishwashing liquid mixed with water. Take your plants outside if you can or put them in the bathtub. Pour the soapy mixture all over the plants(will not harm them) Let them sit for a couple hours. I do this a couple times a year even if I don't see any bugs. Good luck.

Put a half inch of sand on the dirt around the plant. The bugs will die in a few days and the eggs covered in sand will die. Also watering from the bottom helps.
