The release date for The United States and Japan is November 17th 2006. The release date for the PS3 in Europe was held back until march of 2007, due to the shortage of blue-ray DVD players. There will only be 400.000 units at launch, so if you don't pre-order them you might have to wait till December.

I belive they are now looking at a Spring 2007 release in the uk and the rest of Europe but Usa and Japan launch will go ahead as planned! Cant remeber exactly when but I know its soon

March is now the probable release date as the November 17th date had to be put back due to component shortages, Nintendo new games machine has also been put back to around march as well.

march 2007 in europe, japan nov 11 with aprox 100,000 and the u.s is nov 17 aprox 400,000. because of blu-ray problems.

I heard that they where having problems with distribution and stuff and there now recogning on late next year probably in time for xmas 07!!
