I always thought of the C64 as my introduction to computers, when i was kid. Anyone remember it?

If so, what was your favourite game?

YAAAYYYYYYY for the Commodore 64. Here we go down memory lane... Yes I do remember. I think the only game I had was beachhead, but I loved the game. In the annals of computer history the C64 had the best graphics at the time - and way ahead of its time.

BUT, the C64 was not my first computer. Remember the Sinclair?? British import, but had lots of accessories too. Just not much you could do with it.

Remember the TI ??? The first 16-bit job on the market. Ahead of its time, but it died away as a consumer machine because TI protected its specs and TI was the only source of games. Unlike the Commodore folks who had open specs and everyone in the world programmed for the C64.

I used to have one but it wasnt my introduction to computers - before the 64 we had a VIC20 with this you had to type out 100 lines of programing just to get the computer to do a simple thing - then came the C64 and we thought it was it and a bit! This even had a tape player to load programs!!! My parents worked in a computer shop when I was about 8 or so (Im 33 now) and we got to play with all the cool stuff (well it was then LOL) we used to play games such as pong (ping pong game) and card games! OH! and just remembered Frogger in this you had to get a frog across the busy road without being hit by a car - I remember when the internet hit Australia (about 15 or so years ago) I went straight out and did a course on it so I could get straight into it - now I complain that my computer isnt fast enough and doesnt store enough in memory LOL

I had one, my favorite game was Hammurabi. Where you were a pharoah and you needed to grow and sell grain so your subjects would not starve through the year. I know it sounds sucky
