I mean, i know everyone wanted to crown Larry Johnson that off of a GREAT second half of Season, but im not one of them. One Great half year does not Equal what Shaun Alexander, Tiki Barber, Edgerin James, CLinton Portis, Corey Dillon, etc... have been doing for the passed 5 or more Seasons. So i ask, Who really is the Best runner of the Football in the NFL right now...and if you wanna Throw in Pass Catching ability too, thats cool also..it does factor into an overall RB.

I did Forget Tomlinson, sorry. But for all those people who expund on the virtues of LT, so you knowm Tiki Barber has outrushed him AND outreceived him in the last 2 years. its not even close in all purpose yardage....theyre the same kind of running back, but for sum odd reason, because tomlinson has more TDs, he is thought of as the better back...im not so sure. And NO i am NOT a Giant fan, i just find that an odd thing

If Tomlinson is just now hitting his prime, why have Barbers numbers been better the last two seasons? LT had a amazing first two years, but when he was the primary weapon in San diego, Barber was NOT trusted to be the primary weapon in New York. Weapon. when Barber WAS finally made one of the Keypoints in the Giants Offense, like LT was in the Chargers offense, his numbers began to SURPASS LTs numbers. Im not arguing that Barber is a better back than LT, because i dont think he is...but my point is, to say LT is a MUCH better back is a joke, and not fair to Barber. THey are the SAME RB.. Run in between the Tackles, run OUTSIDE the Tackles, Both have Receiver pass catching skill and are often lined up as Flankers... theyre the Same Back... i think the difference is Margional.

The best overall RB in the league seems to be absent from your write-up.... LaDainian Tomlinson.

With Antonio Gates, he has helped make SD into a serious contending team. Remember a few years ago when Eli Manning didn't want to come to the Chargers because they were such a crummy team? Now they are one of the stronger teams in the league.

Alexander has the best stats over the last couple years, but LT didn't have the monster O-line to block him that Alexander has. Additionally, the Chargers have been pretty one dimensional(strong run, weak passing attack), and LT has still put up numbers.

Remember last year when he ran, caught, and threw for a touchdown?? I'd like to see Alexander do that.

-Tiki Barber is a nice back, but he isn't in the class that LT is. He gets a lot of junk yardage which pads his stats(he has been on my fantasy team for the last two years, so I'm not saying its such a bad thing).

Who would be getting a better deal if LT was traded for Tiki? I don't think there is many that would say the Chargers were.

Look at the stats, it becomes really obvious that Ladanian Tomlinson is the best. No other back in history has been as impressive in his first 5 years in the league. Though he's never led the league in rushing, he's been near the top (2nd, 3rd) every year. The guy doesn't have bad years. Add to that the fact that his first 3 years the Chargers had one of the worst O-lines in the league and you'll see why almost every sports writer in the country calls him the best in the NFL. And if he doesn't beat you on the ground, he'll beat you catching or passing.

In response to your Tiki Barber comment, look at what Tiki did his first 5 years in the league, enough said. Tomlinson is better by a wide margin. LT is just now hitting his prime, he's only going to get better and he's already on pace to break the rushing record, the yards from scrimmage record and the touchdown record. How can you even place Tiki in the same category? That's just crazy talk. Tiki is in his 10th year in the league, Tomlinson is in his 6th, that's the reason for the difference in all purpose yards. Tomlinson is on pace to have nearly twice as many all purpose yards by his 10th year.

It's Ladainian Tomlinson, hands-down. He's the most versatile back in the league and puts up some serious digits along with that.

It's gotta be LT. I don't think any coach fears any rb as much as LT.
