Beautiful wicker baskets make good caskets, and a nice marker should suffice at burial site. Woodburn the name into a nice piece of wood and use that as your marker.
My deepest sympathies.

You can use a cooler for large animals. I used a shoe box once for a kitten. I put a towel in it and made a little pillow. Then I wrapped the box in a plastic bag and buried it. We had a small pet cemetery in our back yard. We had wood ties that put use around trees for landscaping. We cut them into about a foot each and used that as a headstone. I wrote their name and birth and death dates. It was really neat....it looked like a real person cemetery, except it was cats and dogs.

Cremation of a pet is alright, if you are at a pet cemetery, ashes can be spread with comforting words, loving eulogy My mom had a maltese poodle that she lovingly gave to us children, he lived for 18 years which was incredible. The last few years of his life was very sad, but he was loved and we made his life as comfortable as possible, we had a loving dog that received a heck of a lot of love. I believe he was euthanized peacefully and went to heaven.

depends on what kind of animal it is, if it is a fish or a hamster, let it go, they don't live long anyways, but if it is a dog or a car, make it last!!!
