You have to wonder, when you see so many women intentionally dating men who mistreat them. Maybe those women think that they don't deserve better . . . perhaps a self-esteem issue . . . or maybe some women enjoy being a martyr and try to "prove" something by staying with a low-quality man.
Then again, I suppose that "respect" means different things to different women, just like what supposedly makes a man "confident" in the eyes of a woman.

I have seen a variety of ways people show respect to another and each is a pleasant surprise nowadays. To see someone open a door for someone, give up a seat on a bus or simply say good morning is becoming a rarity. I think it is important that we show respect to everyone when given the opportunity. And those that choose to live in lives we consider less desirable than we think they should - well they may see these acts of kindness and realize the whole world isn't taking a beating and make a change in their lives.

When you are showing respect to a woman you are only being socially appropriate. It has got nothing to do with the character of the individual who is shown the curtsy. I remeber a Bank's meeting for discussion on the action to be taken against some employees who were found to have defalcated. The report has referred to their names with the prefix Mr. Some particupants protested against the application of this epithet. But the chairman insisted that it the usual and minimum curtsy we show each other.About the woman's dating somebody it is after all her choice and a third party has no locus standi to deprecate because her companion was not a good person. She is an individual in her own right and nobody has any right to pass any judgement upon her in t his regard. Whatever may or may not be the motive of a woman getting along with somebody is none of any other's business. By showing the minimum curtsy to women in fact we are obliging ourselves for our correct social manners.It is pointless to read anything in our respecting a woman.

What's wrong with treating EVERYONE with respect? If you are wanting the best approach to take for gaining a woman's friendship, go with the respect side. As the old saying goes, you catch more flys with sugar than with salt.

Treating a woman with respect matters. I like to be treated with respect and I like to treat those around me with respect (men and women...if they deserve it) I've been with bad men and stayed for too long. I don't get why we do it either.

respect is the foundation of a healthy relationship. If you don't desire a healthy relationship than I guess respect doesn't matter.If the woman thinks she doesn't deserve better the respect may or may not work in the long run. regardless relationships are hard work and unhealthy relationships are even more so.

Personally I think every one should be treated with the same respect unless that person gives you a valid reason not to respect them.
Men should always treat a woman with respect and vise-a-versa.

treating anyone with respect actually matters. Do you like to be disrespected? people who are treated with respect will respond alot more respectfully than people who aren't
