I have tried several ways but the ammonia warm water mixture is the best way. Depending on how may layers there are is how difficult it will be. I even had to use a broad putty knife to scrape up the gunk one time where there were several layers of old wax. But the results are great!

I had this problem recently at my rental property. I found several remedy removers, the best was mean green super strength (I bought a gallon for $5/dollar store, & used it w/o diluting), get a spray bottle & spray a 2-3 foot area & let it set to work for about 5 minutes, use an old towel & 2 buckets of hot water to rinse the rag. Also great to use is a product called awesome $1.00.dollar store purchase. Always let any solution sit & work for 5 minutes as built up wax will not remove same as spraying & cleaning glass.

I always use amonia. Mix it half and half with water and put it on the floor with a mop let sit then rinse with plain watre. If the build up is really bad you might have to do it two times to get all the wax off.

Usually soap takes it off. Try using a solution of half ammonia and half water. If that doesn't work, try ZEP Orange Cleaner. You can buy it at Home Depot for around $3.

try using 1 cup ammonia, 1/4 cup Armstrong Floor Cleaner and 1 gallon hot water. Mop your floor with this, then rinse. It should work nicely.
