I love the comix that Jhonen Vasquez writes. Pick up a few issues and try to get some Ideas. Hes written 3 comic series:

Johnny The Homocidal Maniac (JTHM) which is a 7 issue series.

Squee which is a 4 issue series

I Feel Sick (IFS) which is a 2 issue series.

thats 13 comix to read. Get started. Tell me if you like them

They are really funny but really deep as well. Its the same guy that wrote Invader Zim!

Are you starting your own comic? If so – wow!

Here are a few titles with great names.
DV8
Kabuki
Cybernary

I love the sound of those titles!

Genre? How about something without superpowers? One of my favourite things is- the conspiracy theory, in the vein of The Question, or the X-files. Oriental, Far Eastern themes (as seen in the cult darling, Shi) are cool too, even for Western readers.

For original, invented names, here goes (I just hope they’re not taken yet)…

Trailer Trash
Sinister Mary
Medieval

The most simplistic would be your heroes name, or some addition like "Astonishing" or "Amazing." You see this alot in American comics, not sure about Manga, don't read it much. The primary thing that gets me to buy a comic is how cool the cover looks. The title could be "Watch me crap!" but if the cover is top-notch I would buy it.
