You have to wonder, when you see so many women intentionally dating men who mistreat them. Maybe those women think that they don't deserve better . . . perhaps a self-esteem issue.
Then again, I suppose that "respect" means different things to different women, just like what supposedly makes a man "confident" in the eyes of a woman.

Actually, I think the main reason so many women don't have higher standards is not necessarily because they think they don't deserve better but just because they are afraid to try to find better. In other words they are more afraid of being alone so they just stick with what they already have. I did this for 5 years, thank goodness my soul mate came into my life and opened my eyes to what real happiness is and the highest level of respect. A lot of women don't really understand what respect feels like because they have never had it. So when they are repeatedly being mistreated and disprespected they shrug it off not realizing what they could have.

Hey it matters to me. If you can look at me as an equal and not some helpless weak female then we will get along just great. I have no patience for men who treat women as objects and not real people. Although some women generally go for the "bad boy" there are still plenty of us who like the nice guys. Someone I can bring home to my parents.

Good question. Well, coming from a guy who always treats women with respect ... I'm still single. I think that girls do like being treated bad. Hence all the idiots out-there with beautiful girls. I have friends that have done horrible things ... and yet their girlfriends/spouses stay with 'em. So, it seems to me that women say one thing but accept another. ...but then again what do I know... I'm still sitting here on a computer single. LOL ~ Best of luck to you.

An excellent question. It seems to me an awful lot of females learned some bad, bad lessons in their upbringing. Where on earth does THAT come from? One wants to shake them and tell them to require respect.

I think it does, If you have it for them then they will have it for you. I see this too with many women and I think it is how they are raised and what they see growing up.

Ok, FYI, there are a lot of men that get stepped on and used by women, too. So, I'm wondering, does loving a man for himself and not his credit cards actually matter? Don't generalize , please.

some women do have self esteem issues but i love it when a guy shows respect.it shows they were raised right and have manners.it does matter in the long run.

Of course! respect can get a man the right amount of love back. If you really want to please the women, be yourself, kind, and "respect" her and she con't turn you down.
