No, it's not racist to hate rap music. Rap is music as you said, and race shouldn't even be considered in teh equation.

I hate rap but I'm certainly not racist. People probably take it that way because most rappers are black. It doesn't mean I don't like the people, though I don't care for how a lot of rappers act, but it certainly doesn't have anything to do with race. I just don't like the music.

A lot of people ARE crazy, that's why they act it. I know there are still horrible prejudices that still exist, but I've found more and more people to go overboard with political correctness more to make themselves feel big. Lots of people hate rap music, and sure, lots of people sadly enouigh are racist, but the two don't go together at all. I think alot of people think they're doing society a favor by freaking out over everything and making acusations out of bullsh*t ties like this. We could say people who hate peanut butter sandwiches are racist too, and it would be about the same thing. People are weird.

Good question, considering Rap is not racial music.
Rap is a message more than anything. If people would actually listen to the words, they just might find that Rap is worthwile after all!
And I can just hear folks now thinking I am a teenager because of my answer....ha, ha ha.

Just because someone hates "rap music" this does not make them racist. Who starts acting crazy, question is a little unclear.

I don't know because I hate rap music no mater what color the person is who sings it. I don't think that makes me racist. Why is that any different than saying I don't like country music?

Rap is a music genre not a race. Its not racist to hate rap music, some people don't prefer to listen to rap music but it doesn't mean they are racist already. Its their taste and music preference.

No, you can dislike a type of music and not be a racist. I find as I grow older though that my ears are much more open to new types of music.
