Look around their office and spot something that you can make conversation about. Maybe a pic or something. If you get them talking about something other than the job they will feel that they can relate with you, whether they realize it or not. It has been proven that if the interviewer has something in common with the applicant that they are much more likely to hire. Try it it works! First hand experience.

If you can't find any public information on the company. Ask questions that pertain to the business. i.e. How long have you been in business? How many employees did you start with? That gives you an idea of if the business is growing. It shows the interviewer that you are interested in the history of the business which help you to be the future.

When you convince yourself, you will easily convince them. Get your accomplishments in order from previous work or life experiences to let your actions speak louder than words. Get data with numbers ... increased 20% profitability for the company in six months, saved $100K by implementing form letter program to answer frequently asked questions from clients, etc. History repeats itself... if you've been a winner in the past, you are just the winner they are looking for. If you were a loser average employee, guess what you'll get???
