If what you are coughing up is not clear mucus chances are you have a sinus infection and will need antibiotics to get over it. If you have a family doctor call and talk to the nurse practitioner if your doctor has one and chances are the doctor might call in a prescription for you, if it is infection the mucus will be either a green or yellow in color, if it is allergies it will be more to the clear color. If it is infection a Z-Pak (Zithromax) will knock it out in a few days, however it is expensive without insurance, doctor may prescribe Amoxcillin which is cheaper, you also need a cough suppressant so you aren't coughing as hard. You can try one of the over the counter cough supressents, the pharmacist can recommend one if you don't want to get a prescription for a cough syrup. You can also try some of the Walmart brand Cold or Allergy and Sinus medicine this would help dry the mucus up, but if I were you I would call the doctor and try to get a prescription for the antibiotics, you would feel better within a few days.

RE:
Coughing up mucus and there is blood.?
I have had a cold- just a sore throat and a runny/stuff nose. My throat feels as though there is a sore on the right side so when I swallow or eat anything salty or acidic it burns. Well my nose is better but now I am coughing up mucus and some of it has specs of blood. Also when i do have to blow...

stop panicing. It's probably a cold. I have a little blood in my mucous every time it is dry outside. If it were TB it would be a lot of blood. Also, let your body kick it. It's an epidemic with getting on anybiotics everytime one gets a cold. It weakens the immune system and makes it harder to use them when you actually have a problem which requires it. Go to the doctor only if it doesn't gradually get better. If you go to the emergency room they will not refuse to admit you but they will slap you with a bill for $500 for a cold.

Anytime a dog coughs up blood, it's serious. You should have taken both of your dogs to the vet, the minute you noticed any injuries, instead of making them suffer in pain for the last few hours. If your one dog does have Internal Injuries and you don't get him/her to the vet NOW, depending on what kind of injuries they have, your one dog who is the worst can die, if the dog does have Internal Injuries . I suggest you quit wasting time, get off your computer, find an Emergency Vet and take your dogs in if you don't want that to happen.

There could of been a broken blood vessel in your nose and when you sniffle, it takes the mucus and the blood and u spit them out of your mouth. Or your throat could be irretated and started to bleed.

It sounds like you may have pneumonia. You NEED to get to the doctor and get some simple drugs to help you out. I live in Canada so its easy for me to say that. Untreated you my/will have worse problems which will cost way more to fix.
SEEK medical help NOW!
Please.
