No, dieting is outdated and only works for a select couple. And the pills cause strokes. I think if you do Pilate's (which is just a lot of stretching), and keep your diet Live and Dead (If you eat something dead--hamburger,chicken--then always eat something live after or during--live meaning uncooked vegiies or fruit), and keep up the routine of eating that way, you will keep yourself healthy. A friend told me about it and I've never felt better. It's easier than counting calories and watching carbs. I also, keep anything with calcium in my diet for snacking, (ie., milk, yogurt, broccoli, etc.). Calcium is great on weight loss, don't know why, but it does help take the pounds off. If you cut out the fast food to once a month you'll do fine. Believe me, it's not dieting, well it doesn't feel that way to me. And I am a lazy eater, (eat what I want not what I have to). SOrry, got a bit carried away. Changing the diet is good, dieting in general TO ME, not good.

If they go on a diet and put their health at risk then no they should never do that. Most of the time though IF THEY ARE OVERWEIGHT Ithey go on a diet to improve their health. Being overweight has many health risks including diabetes, heart disease and cancer. Is someone is already thin but isn't satisfied then they need to get help for having an eating disorder.

People should eat between 1500 and 2000 calories per day so as not to put their health at risk, one way or the other.

Yes , people should care about their figure. You don't have to go crazy with it . It's like asking if people should care about themselves. You can go on a diet without putting yourself at risk. remember every diet is not for every person. They need to find what works for them.

There isn't. I'm not any skinny stick and I never have been. I've been over weight my whole life. I'm not saying that I'm OBESE but I'm not the model type. I love myself and so does my boyfriend. I tried dieting and I just get frustrated. People should love themselves the way they are. Everyone is different and if we all start to get really skinny and fit into that ANOREXICLY skinny stereotype then what is that saying about people? Everyone is followers not leaders and if you don't fit in with the way SOCIETY wants you to be then you're looked down upon. Society is what's ruining people.

It's all about Self-Image and what Emotional Baggage we carry with us they will determine the outcome!
For instance - Look at Cat-Walk Models!!
They earn $$$$ for putting their long-term Female health at risk!

Weight loss for Health reasons is a great idea, but only under supervision of a Doctor or Nutritionist!!

You know I'm to the point that if I'm happy and I'm not in bad health then let me be!!!! Yeah so I'm a little overweight. I'm not obese and I do try to watch what I eat some but I'm happy. I like food. I think it's up to each individual but sometimes people on diets go too extreme-Nicole Richie and Kate Bosworth come to my mind real fast.

We'll I kinda like going to the store and being able to try on an outfit without squeezing into it. It is for your own health's sake to stay at a descent size, being overweight is putting your health at risk.

I think that people shouldn't diet but I think that having a low body fat,as long as it isn't too low, is healthy. Dieting is not healthy and it doesn't work so the best way to get into shape and be healthy is to eat a balanced diet and excercise.
