During school days you have to put in approx. 3-4 hours for prepration,for academic studies.But on holidays you have to put in at least 8-10 hours for prepration.But as the exams come nearer you need to make the most of each and every hour you have.

For the Indian Institute of Technology
Does not depend on how many hours you study but what you study.
Takes a whole lot of practice to certain questions way out of syllabus to get even close to IIT questions
So as you study more, the study hours naturally go up

5-7 hours daily(school days). 8\9 hours during week-ends. You'll have work really hard to enter IIT. Anyway All the Best.

one need not study hours together for iit . it all depends on how much in depth u understood d concept. i hav seen many people who studied for just 2 to 3 hrs a day and competed iit.
