Focusing on Teen Movies, depends on the parents, old fashioned or opened minded. Of course, you should avoid certain movies to not feel uncomfortable. However, must of the teen movies you can watch with your parents if they have an open mind. They will probably remind them of themselves at that age and laugh their butts off.
You can start with -
The Breakfast Club
Ferris Buller's Day Off
Sixteen Candles
Can't Buy Me Love
She is the One
10 Things I Hate About You
Weird Science
Nerds
Revenge of the Nerds
And then move to others such as
American Pie I, & II
American Wedding
Fast Times at Ridgemond High
Not Another Teen Movie
Last but not least
Old School
Animal House
Porky's

Just use the age restrictions that are on the films, that's why they are there...to give a guideline of the ages of people that are allowed to watch the certain film. If you/your parents don't mind your children/you watching a film with swearing, a little violence and on occasion mild sexual scenes. A 12A would be suitable for someone aged 11 or over.

First, no "R" film.
Second, look at the offerings in PG-13 and PG and see what you may like that you won't be embarrassed to see with you parents.
Third, perhaps an inspirational film like "Gridiron Gang" or "Invincible" might fill the bill nicely

Anything rated below pg, if you don't get embarrassed by kissing, and sex which tends to be themed in pg-13 and r rated movies.
