have to disagree there . . .
american rock bands are fantastic . . .
not to mention jazz, blues, rap, hip-hop, etc.

Well yes I have to agree with you here as far as Rock bands English bands are far superior, there are some exceptions, there are some awesome American bands.. fortunately for American music, Blues as we know it was borned in the USA, Rock and Roll is American baby, Jazz is American, Europeans used to go crazy with jazz they still do ...
Just a comment but Prog Rock bands are pretty much all English at least the best ones...
Classic Rock yes they're mostly English.. sh*t we are in the pits in this category
But US has some of the best Death Metal bands, can easily compete with the English they don't have that many death metal bands..Scandinavians do have plenty more ...
The English have great Punk and Hardcore Punk bands, but US has some great ones as well... actually post-punk so we may be close to a tie there lol
hmm Industrial metal its all English and some other Europeans, America has zip, nada ...

American and English rock bands are just as good as each other it's a matter of preference.
As for the band A-HA they are from Norway.

A-HA is Norwegian--but you forgot the Beatles! There are plenty of great English & American rock bands. I don't think the world of rock & roll is big enough to take the greatest from both countries (and beyond).

I agree 110% with you on this. I don't like too many American rock bands.

Debatable. But what IS true:
Without the American blues/rock acts that came before the British Invasion of the 60s, there probably wouldn't've BEEN all the acts you listed.

no longer even close. Ever because Cliff B. died Metallica has sounded greater and greater like popular metallic. each album gradually worse. Early Metallica replaced into reliable, yet even then it wasn't the suitable ever.
