i was talking to my friends in the pub last night, and my friend **** and i said we both do it quite a lot, however our other friend said she had only done it twice in her life! which do you think is more typical?

You & your friend are more typical . Sometimes I am horny and other times I am not. But most girls/women do it regularly (those who say they don't are either lying or embarrassed to admit it) We all touch ourselves from infancy and this carries on throughout our lives. It depends on upbringing. If parents were telling you it was wrong or whatever it might have an effect on you. I discovered it later on (20 years old) but probably did it as a child/infant. It feels good, costs nothing and is non-fattening . What more can you ask for. I am proud to be a WANKER! Lol. And we are all normal beleieve me.

I work as a party planner for Ann Summers and I think that a person saying that she has only done it twice in her life is definately not typical, most of the ladies that I speak to are fairly open with the amount that they masterbate and this even shocks me sometimes. i tried to ask a similar question the other week and got it removed! im also interested in what other women see as normal - me and my friend ended up having this discussion last week. i do it at least a few times a week, i was worried i was a freak or something but i cant help feeling sexual at times. my friend said the same though... she does it alot. i think when your single, you need an outlet... though ive also done the same when in relationships but not as often..

You are more typical that you realise. Your friend really needs to loosen up (either that or she's lying!). I don't do it often myself but I've done it more than twice! That's sad! I really do hope your friend is just being coy. Some women still are about this subject.

I think women and men are the same and do it whenever the need takes their fancy (and they have the opportunity) I will do it several times a week as well as having a very good sex life with my husband.
I think your friends may be a little embarrased to tell the truth as it is still slightly taboo, but what the hell, if you enjoy it and it makes you feel good - go for it!

I am french and find myself very horny all the time. I would say on average 1-3 times a day. If I don't do it my boyfirend gets me off. Although he finds it a chore. I am thinking of trying the opposite sex for a change!

Yes, I masturbate. I think some women are less likely to masturbate (or admit to masturbating) because some people still feel it's a taboo and a stigma for women to admit to feeling, enjoying, and actively seeking sexual pleasure and fulfilment.

I do it often, a few times a week if I feel very aroused. I think your other friend is either lying or haven't had an orgasm when she's done it so she doesn't feel the urge to do it frequently.
