I think all ethnicities have that problem. I'm black and my knees are darker than the rest of my legs. But, If its out of control, or you just can't bare it, you should go to a dermatologist. Maybe she can prescribe something that will even out you skin tone. Good luck!

Geographies and cultures which face a harsher sun have more Melanin protein in their skin. which explains the darker color.

The parts which are more exposed to the sun - face / arms are more tanned than the torso and upper legs.

so its just more and less tanning, not uneven skin pigmentation. you wont find anyone in India say "hey freckles".

For the elbows and knees, everyone actually has that, just to a lesser degree. I'm not sure about the rest, but I'm pretty sure it's normal.

First of all, don't try numerous products. Sometimes our skin reacts differently to each product that we use and it results in skin problems. As far as I can tell, your skin needs some rest from these products. For lightening, use lemon juice and tomato juice. Also I would highly recommend this product for uneven skin tone as it helped me a lot and the formula is great for all skin types- Optimals Even Out Day Cream from Oriflame.

You should read Laura Jefferson’s book "Skin Whitening At Home" ( I saw it's also available in electronic format +video: http://www.skinwhiteningathome.com ). After 8 weeks I managed to get my skin a few tones whiter and I also got rid of freckles.

The method she teaches in her book is natural, inexpensive, and is readily available in most homes. You could even find some ingredients in your own backyard. The most wonderful thing about the method she shares in her book is that it will help you whiten or lighten your skin pigmentations, freckles, age spots, acne marks, dark underarms, melasma, or your overall skin color easily and naturally without breaking your bank or producing dangerous side effects. Good Luck!
