Your suppose to wear an apron when cooking. It is only to keep everything off your cloths. That is the only point of an apron.

Throwing an apron on and keeping flour, powdered sugar, etc. off your clothing is one thing. How often do you come in touch with powdery substances outside of the kitchen? I know some men wear jumpsuits or uniforms when working under cars, etc.

You usually don't wear nice clothes when preparing food, do you? If I am wearing nice clothes and preparing food, then yes I'd wear an apron.

20 years ago (when I was 20-23) I would wear an apron with a big pocket when cleaning, i would pick up things that don't belong in a room and then when i would be ready to clean the next room i would put away any items, pick up any more found.. now i just carry a little bucket (like you get sherbet or ice cream in)

Apron is only for when you are dealing with food - prepping or serving (like in a job or prepping at home). I don't think it would ever be a fashion trend to wear all the time, if that is what you are thinking....

I THINK THIS IS A WONDERFUL IDEA. MY HUSBAND IS A TEACHER AND GETS FOOD ON HIS CLOTHES WHEN EATING HIS LUNCH. I HAD JUST TOLD HIM MAYBE WE NEED TO GET A CLOTHING PROTECTOR TO HELP PREVENT THIS. THANKS FOR POSTING THIS AS IT RECONFIRMS MY THOUGHTS.
