Why people feel unhappy while paying taxes to government?

I don't think people get upset about paying taxes but get upset about what our tax money is spent on

Because they're giving up their hard earned money for the government to spend in whatever they see fit.
If you don't agree with the way the government is using this money, it's probably relatively annoying.
Also, some feel that the government taxes too much and that it's a strain on the economy, which is historically true.

A common man always think twice before paying for anything. Especially taxes to Govt. As we know Govt. collects the money from tax payers and spend it in country development, salaries and maintainence etc.
People feel unhappy because of unsatisfactory use of their earned money paid as tax.

The stealth taxes in the United Kingdom are getting to such an extent that they are strangling the economy which is doing noone any good.

Stealing people's pensions is the last thing a government that wants a better future should be doing.

Because we are paying for sub standard infrastructure. for instance, one has to pay 50 Rs. toll tax (to n for) every day to travel on the Western express highway in Mumbai, which has at least 10 potholes every kilo meter. People who are paying income tax don't have any social security in India. Big cut of the tax collected goes to the MPs' hand to spend on his will. Most of them will not be knowing the basic requirements at their constituency. Another big cut goes to the ever increasing politicians salary, most of whom are corrupt from the word A. Remaining money goes to repair the constructions, which the government contractors have built. Why should not one feel sorry to pay Tax?

They usually don't always have the money, if self employed and do not hold it out every paycheck because they need the money to live. I just think that the wealthy people always seem to know how to get the breaks, and the illegal immigrants do not pay, if paid under the table, etc.Seems like the middle man always get it in the buttocks.

Primarily because the poor and the middle class pay taxes to lower the tax burden of the rich (under Republican leadership) for making the rich, richer.

This is so counter-intuitive it is nauseating.

Because we worked hard, sometimes make financial, health, and career risk to earn the money. If we don't believe they are spent properly and are wasted for the politicians personal gains. We all would be unhappy.

Why would you feel unhappy. Guess how you have services like law enforcement,fire and emergency medical services,garbage pickup,water ,electricity,and sewage service,schools,hospitals. Not to mention,federal,state,county and city governments.These things are possible thru your taxes.
