It is ready to plant... but I would winter it in a six inch pot inside untill spring at this point...it would do well outside had you planted it about a month ago. but now it doesn't have time to become established and would most likely die from shock over the winter... best bet Plant it in a six inch pot and nurse it throughout the winter in spring when the ground begins to thaw get that puppy into good soil... check the pH and adjust the alkaline if need be and mulch to the dripline. for the first year. each subsequent year your mulch doesn't have to come out as far but you still need to mulch. Good luck and you never said what kind of tree?... Good luck anyway.

Once a seedling has a root system it should be fine to plant it in good soil, just make sure the roots are covered by the soil and it gets plenty of water and light. I always add a little fertalizer/food mixture at the bottom of the hole or mixed in soil to help the roots set properly and remain strong. just make sure it is the right type for your seedling.

just keep it for 3 more days and transfer it to some other place, before that make the soil little bit loose where u r going to plant it,afterwards place it and water.
