Ok I have a 94 jeep. It has seen better days, but its all i have for now. I put a new started in it, it has a new battery as well..sometimes it will start and sometimes it wont and I end up having to pop the clutch to get it started. What else could it be?

Is it trying to start at all or just clicking when you turn the key? If it is trying to start I would check the spark plugs to see if they are coroded. If it just clicks when you try to start it, it may be a number of things. Try finding an answer here and good luck!

Sometimes the cable connections LOOK clean, but are corroded inside where you can't see it. That's a good place to start looking.

Next, check out the charging system to make sure the battery is being recharged.

If all is well up to here, do a major tune up, have the carb checked out. That should do the trick. GOOD LUCK!

Not enough info, but, If it isn't turning over then it may be in your charging system, alternator, belt, battery, cables, ect. I don't belive spark plugs have anything to do with it.Auto parts stores will check the system for free usually.

do a tune up on it and see if that does not help..a tune consists of...
New plugs and wires
Distributor cap and rotor
Air Cleaner
Check the timing

If you have the mech skills this is about a 2 hour job at home if not there are places that do this in about an hours time.

Sounds like you have a bad connection some where...make sure your battery cables are not corroded and that all connections are tight...also if its a rebuilt started it could be a defective one...

take it to machanic. your shooting into the wind hoping you will hit something. you proble have spent more money that what the original fix would have cost you. poping the clutch is very hard on every thing can tear up other stuff.
