Honesty is the best policy
On the other hand ~ you going against your principals ~ It's a sin to tell a lie
One lie leads to another...

I think that you said the right and honest thing - you wouldn't know anyone else and you'd feel uncomfortable. My daughter's boyfriend didn't come to her 13th birthday party for that exact reason, and she was very understanding about it.

Another idea - you could ask your bf if you could bring along a few friends. I'll bet he'd be happy to say yes because as far as a party's concerned, the bigger the better. Plus then you'd feel more comfortable too.

if you really like him you wouldn't need an excuse you would go to the party to meet some of his friends. Obviously you are not very interested in him if you have to makeup some excuse. Just tell him the trueth

Say that you have to have dinner with your family, or some family member is in the hospital. Or your family is on fire. Something with your family. Nobody can prevent or get away from family events.

But in my opinion, you should go to the party anyway even if none of your friends are going. Meet new friends!

welll if that boy was me then hearing that you were doing some schoool work or doing something with your family would make me feel at ease....Since if i was thinking about you at the party i could be comfortable thinking "o she's with her family or doing homework" ...if you give any other excusse then it would loook like u r trying to ditch him

The truth. If you have to lie to someone to keep them as a friend (or more) they aren't worth it. Be true to yourself always.
