Firstly, no advice in this Yahoo Answer should replace that of your pediatrician...so you should call the doctor you have arranged to look after your daughter's long term pediatric care. Lord knows, I have read plenty of wrong answers in here! :)
Each baby has her own stool frequency pattern that changes slowly over time. This frequency with which your baby passes stools may also vary. Sometimes breast-fed babies may not pass stools for many days or even a week. This is normal. Others may fill their nappy just before every feed. Some babies cry while passing stools. This is normal and if the stools are soft then your baby is not constipated. You will see that your baby's stools change a little from day to day. If there is a big change, like the stool has become very loose, very smelly, very hard or especially if there is mucous or blood in the stools then you should consult your doctor immediately.

I absolutely think that you should stress yet, but I remember whem my son was newborn I would worry about the littlest things, it's natural. but just remember that every baby is different. My son and my niece are 6 days apart (now 3 yrs. old) and my niece came out pooping and still goes at least 3 times a day without fail, my son will go for days without a bowel movement. Sometimes he strains really hard when he does and he has done that since he was a baby baby. If he hasn't in a couple of days and has foul gas that means he's constipated so I will give him some kaopectate, or tummy drops (little tummy's), but since yours is a newborn, I would give her a few sips of prune juice since she's too young for prune babyfood. That's what the pediatrician always told me to do with my son. Gerber makes little bottle that you just screw a nipple on the top in prune, apple, etc, juice. Try that, but only let her have a few sips since she's still young. * definitly talk to her pediatrician though because it could be a formula problem, they changed my sons probably 10 times in the first year!
Physical problems to watch for in your newborn include:
An umbilical cord stump that looks infected, as is indicated by pus or reddened skin at the base of the cord.
Signs of dehydration, such as not urinating at least 4 times in 24 hours.
Not having regular bowel movements. Newborns younger than 2 weeks should have 1 to 2 bowel movements per day. Babies older than 2 weeks can go 2 days between bowel movements as long as the baby seems comfortable.
Jaundice that has not improved by 4 days after birth. For more information, see the topic Jaundice in Newborns (Hyperbilirubinemia).

Babies do not always have a stool pass every day, it's very much up to each individual baby to develop their own personal pattern. A baby getting breast milk quite often will not have a dirty diaper every day. Even formula really doesn't leave much after digestion. She may have gas for several reasons- you may not have burped her completely, or the formula may not agree with her today. Or mom ate something that didn't agree with her. She will strain to pass gas, the same as you if you have a belly full and are uncomfortable. If she sucks a pacifier or her fingers/hand, she may also be swallowing a little extra air.
You can listen to that little tummy with your ear against her belly. If it sounds like lots of rumbly noise, that's gas. A nice warm bath, complete with rubbing her tummy in a clockwise motion will help move things along. Our children's favorite place for the passage of gas was either across Dad's leg, with him very gently jiggling his leg, or up over the shoulder, with us doing some heavy stepping. The youngest one was a toughie who didn't care to burp or poot, and I discovered leaning against the washer in the spin cycle while holding him worked great. They also have some infant drops containing simethicone that help bust up gas bubbles.
If she doesn't have a dirty diaper in a day or so, get in touch with your pediatrician. He/she can give you much better advice on what to do next.

Get her some gas release drops at walmart. That should take care of the problem. 24 hours isn't really enough time to stress out yet. Give her some time, if the gas drops don't work in a couple of days make an appointment with your pediatrician.

Most breast fed babies do not go for 1-4 days sometimes. It is completely natural. Breast milk has little waste, and absorbs all most all the nutrients in breast milk. Unlike formula feed babies that only get Little nutrients and lots of waste.

Its always important to check with your pediatrician first, however, to relieve gas get some simethicone drops at the drug store.
if the baby is constipated, the old timers told me to use Karo syrup
"the dark kind" and as small as your baby is she is not drinking very much at each feeding, so put just a little maybe 1/8 teaspoon in a bottle shake it up and give it to her, this will loosen her up.
as I said always check with your pediatrician before taking any advise from people you don't know.

You really need to talk to the baby's doctor about this. I your daughter is on soy formula this could be the problem. I tried doing te formula and breastmilk. My son ended up getting really bad gas. He was full term and I know that they are different.

She should be going a few times a day at least. Maybe you should talk to her doctor about it. I'm not sure what else to tell you.
