I hated her in the movies. She doesn't look anything like Storm. She was a horrible choice. Who would you pick?

No, her performance was ok, but definitely having a bad hair day. And please don't get me going on her portrayal of "Catwoman".

Storm has a longish face so the lengthy hair suits her. Halle's face is round and she isn't tall enough. But she looks good. But then which black actress could fit that role, in the cartoons, Storm's face is bony and though she is from Africa her features don't look typical African. A black Famke Jenssen would have suited her.

I agree. She was weak in the role. Plus Storm is supposed to be Egyptian, and she didn't even bother to try to pull of an Egyptian accent (although that was probably the studio's choice and not Halle Berry's). While the X-Men movies were in general done well (I just saw the 3rd one again and liked it much better the second time around.), the way they handled some of the characters was weak. Colossus as some dumb American high school jock? Nightcrawler as a skinny, non-athletic English geek faking a lame German accent? They did their best to make Kelsey Grammar believable as Beast. He has the perfect voice for the character, but I still think he looked like a blue version of the Stay-Puff marshmellow man in his fake muscle suit. The studio does have a very difficult task in finding actors to play these roles, though. They're iconic, very distinctive, and many of them have unusual characteristics. How many tall, super-buffed Russain actors are there who can speak English well enough and are the right age to play Colossus? Given the difficulties in casting, they did a great job picking Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, and whatshisname as Wolverine, Prof-X, and Magneto. As for Storm, Iman would have been a better choice for looks & accent alone, but she can't act, so she probably wouldn't have been able to pull it off. She's probably also a little too old, although I haven't seen what she looks like lately. I can't think of anyone else.

I think some of the characters were modified regarding personality in the movie compared to the comics. Like cyclops also who is not a prominent character in the movie but is so in the series which pisses me. She does according to her role. she is more vulnerable in the movie but is a standing character in the series. If she is Egyptian, how do you explain her nephew?

I think that they cast her in the role solely because she is so pretty, but you must recall that these super heroes in comic books are impossible. Nobody could really be that beautiful, that powerful, get into those kinds of fights withoutbeing killed, and still come out looking fresh and hot.
Besides, I think that the studios perceptions of blacks are still such that they prefer the lighter blacks, and will not give the very handsome darker blacks a fair chance.

she is not qualified at all she moves just like a sissy. Angelina Jolie or Michell Yeoh could do way better
