A look of denial.
Have you ever watched Frontline's The Dark Side about Cheney. Actually I think it is Rumsfeld that has been calling the shots for the republican party since the late 60s. He gave Cheney his first job in the White House as his assistant when he was Nixon's Sec. of State.

Like the loving wife of a philanderer there are many Republicans who would turn a blind eye to the truth, excuse it or even support it. To be totally stunned by the entire truth requires a degree of 're-education' that would be almost impossible given the state of American media - separating the propaganda from the truth is going to remain difficult while the media remains dependent on corporations with special interests and political allegiances.

You know, I would love to see it happen, but it will be another generation or more until we finally realize that Reagan was an actor, and nothing more. I don't see Bush's exposure happening anytime soon.

There is no way anyone can say that George Bush is a tyrant. Tyrants are for the most part very intelligent people, so that in itself prevents Bush from being branded a tyrant.

The same 'look' we see now...absolute, naive, "we weren't suckered!" denial.
The President lies constantly to the American people, he approves torture, he violates the constitution, he helps the rich over the poor and he goes to great lengths to cover up his crimes with Executive Orders, invoking Executive Privilege and crooked stonewalling.
They just can't believe that President Bush is an American fraud- truly the devil wearing a Christian disguise.
