According to Jesus, of Nazareth, you know the one descended from David (the guy that slew Goliath.) Jesus, many believe to be the Messiah, the saviour and also believed by many to be the son of God; he said that for a rich man, getting to heaven is like a camel trying to pass through the eye of a needle. In his time there was a city, not sure if it was Nazereth or Jerusalem, and it had a big wall around it. The only way in was an entrance commonly known as "the eye of the needle" and it had room for a camel but if it was carrying anything it had to be unloaded, for security I suppose. I suppose what Jesus was saying is that you can't bring stuff with you when you go to heaven. So wether its a pearly gate or a door, or even an elevator with fancy sliding doors, its probably a really narrow entrance. Also, considering all the dead bodies on the world that have been buried, burnt, or even eaten, I imagine the entrance is too narrow to take your body, so it must only be wide enough for the spirit. Which is great for me, I need to lose weight anyway.

It all depends on what you think is there at the entrance. For some it is a gate, for others a door and even others may just see heaven as a wide open space filled with all the things they love
but has no entrance or exit.

Heaven's Gate is called Porta Cuela and is manned by St Peter. He alone has the keys. You will see on most churches named 'St Peter's' that there is usually a key built into the gate of the church or on the door.

The tradition goes back to Jesus telling Peter (formerly Simon) that he would be given the keys to the Gates of Heaven. Simon was renamed Petros, or Peter, as being 'the Rock upon which I build my Kingdom'.

Last time I was there, it had a huge metal gate guarded by a dog sitting outside the gate. The dog was was from hell, but assigned the guard duty outside the gates to Heaven. Being a subject of Hell, the dog was not allowed to go inside. When I was returning to earth, this dog asked me how life was inside heaven. I told everything.
