The EU in principle is a wonderful idea for Europe. Now if they can just begin to work together without all the infighting usually associated with melding such diverse cultures and histories. I'm wishing them well. Britain is absolutely marvelous. Love the nation, the people, the cities. I felt so totally at ease and comfortable there as an American (no I wasn't loud). I'd hate to think that Britain would change for any other nation in any way. Just an aside here mates, you know you're money is worth more than the EU's as it stands. Why fix something that isn't broken?

No. Britain belongs to Europe and to Uncle Sam across the seas. Language is the only factor common between USA and Britain. But Britain have a real problem also joining hte EU. Time would show a way. No hurry at all. In an integrated world these aspects only have marginal importance.

Stick with the EURO.
You are part of Europe not USA.

European Union member states of Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal and Spain. More will join.

European commission will present a strong unity and force in coming years.

Afraid the Dollar is in for a licking.

Ah, just learn a new language already, and you'll feel better. I speak three languages fluently, how can it be so hard?

why in the world would you want to become a state. We are not what we seem to be my friend. Have a revolution, get off your butts and make your own united britain. some will die for it, but your grandchildren will be free.
You don't like this idea do you? That is what we did over here to make us free and have what we have. I don't think you people are familar enough with the american lifestyle and what we do for our freedom to become a part of us. YOu just want the gravy without having to make it.

Absolutely not! If Brittain needs help, the USA will help, but there is no way on earth The Brits would give up their Royal Family and aristocratic rule and most of the people I know wouldn't want her to. We Americans love our country and our democratic way, but many of us love the romanticism of Brittain and are their biggest fans. The only way it would work is if the US took her in as a protected province but leave her under Royal rule.

We would happily (very happily) welcome you. Just make sure you remember what it feels like when empires fall, and pick the right horse to hitch yourself to. Might be best to remain independant, then hang with the Indians in 20 years. :)
