Maybe stop doing the housework for a while, or not as well as you normally do, let it get a little messy, maybe in the areas he usually uses, like around the Xbox :)

Hide the xbox from him and refuse to let him have it back until the house is tidy. Then decide how much you want him to do and you do the rest. Then you wait for him to do his bit whilst doing whatever you want to do.
If he really wants to play on it that bad he will do the housework in order to earn the xbox back. Make sure you hide it well and set a standard of how well he should do it so he doesn't just shove everything anywhere and rush it.
DON'T bin or sell the xbox as this will just get him mad and instead of doing the housework to earn the xbox back he will find something else to do instead and purposely make more mess for you, if he knows he can have it back afterwards then he will do his bit to get it back.

You need to have a serious word with him and explain that he needs to assist you with the upkeep of the house. Its important that you stress to him that you're not telling him "no xbox" but you would like some help in keeping the house clean.
In addition, you could try and take some interest in the xbox yourself - play a 2 player game with him. You don't have to be an expert games player to have fun. Just take an interest in what he likes doing.
He'll probably still want his own quality time on the xbox, and maybe you could do something you enjoy whilst he's doing this.
This is more of a diplomatic approach to the problem.

Speak to your boyfriend and Tell him he should get off the xbox....as you are getting really tired....
OR
Stop doing the housework....and then he would see the mess build up and he will then help you out.

Hi there i suggest you give him an incentive to do the housework such as rewards when he does something. For example when i moved in with my boyfriend i had the same problem so i got some beautiful victorian era french porn pics put them in lovely frames and put them on the windowsil in my kitchen....over the sink....he couldnt stop doing the wash up! now there in the bedroom but he continues to do the wash up out of habit now! This is also gud ...tel him if you ex hoover , dust ill and tel him hes getting a big surprise! youll only have to do it for a while while he actually gets used to pulling his weight . Goodluck hun!

Give him a list of chores to do. Split the work evenly so that he see that you've got stuff to do. And make it his turn to cook the tea.
Get him to explain to you why this is not(!) reasonable, etc. and then start the discussion from there.
Keep the pressure on until he caves and actually does something (Be prepared for it to be a crap job - but don't let him use that trick), and consistenly keep the pressure up.
Always be objective and fair.
(p.s. - I'm the Xbox player in the house and do my bit)
