Not a good idea. Baby chimps are sweet but as adults they are uncontrollable and can be very violent. You will never see an adult chimp used in advertising or in a circus. In the wild chimps are not the soft little banana eaters films would have you believe. They often kill and eat smaller monkeys and they they will often kill and eat other chimps. Before taking on any exotic pet do a lot of research, none are easy and many are dangerous even if they seem "tame' most of the time.

Keeping a chimp is illegal. They are threatened animals and it is illegal to kill them or trade in them, or keeping them as a pet for that matter.
